Tisha
Hello, my name is Tisha. I graduated from Winterset High School in 1998. As a young adult, I had two dreams…one was to become a chef, and the other was to work in a dental office. My first passion is cooking, so I decided to pursue a culinary career and attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska. I then worked in several upscale restaurants only to learn that working in commercial kitchens was not for me!
As a young child, I had a large overbite and very crooked teeth. I remember being embarrassed to smile. When I was in 5th grade, my parents took me to an orthodontist and I got braces that I wore for several years. The result was amazing, and I am so grateful that my parents gave me that opportunity…it helped my self-confidence tremendously! All of those trips to the orthodontist made me fall in love with dentistry…this is where my dream began to work in a dental office someday.
After ending my culinary career, I moved back home to Iowa and pursued my dream by attending Vatterott College where I received my degree in Dental Assisting in 2007. As a student, I rotated through Restoration Dental on an externship, and I absolutely loved it! Dr. Jay did not have any openings at the time, so I went to work for another office. As soon as Dr. Jay had an opening, he called me and I jumped on board right away! I am so happy and so excited to be an integral part of this wonderful dental practice!
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and entertaining friends and family at my home.
